this winter i had the chance to travel to europe with my family to visit my sister who was studying abroad. we flew into warsaw to finally go to the country from where my mom’s parents immigrated , took the train to krakow, the bus to auschwitz, an overnight train to prague where my brother and his girlfriend met us, to travel onto munich, then to salzburg and finally ended our trip in vienna.

we walked about a hundred miles, tried to stay warm by drinking gluhwein (pronounced gloo-vine, which is mulled red wine), shopped at every christmas market in every town we visited, ate kielbasa for days and only went to three museums: one uprising museum, one BMW museum and only one art museum where we saw one piece of art.
